Identidad(es) en tránsito. Las culturas en la era de la globalización

Abstract

¿La irreductible pluralidad de culturas puede, debe, encontrar "derecho de ciudadanía" en las nuevas configuraciones de nuestro mundo? Con vistas a esclarecer filosóficamente esta cuestión que hoy es crucial, examinamos en primer lugar la idea misma de "cultura" antes de ver cómo puede dar lugar a realizaciones diversas. Entre los extremos opuestos de la clausura ideológica y de la fragmentación estética, buscamos orientarnos hacia un acuerdo razonable susceptible de apelar a cierta trascendencia ético-espiritual. Esbozo, pues, de una dinámica lógicamente significante que corresponde, a todos y a cada uno, volver históricamente pertinente.

“Identity(ies) in transit. Cultures in the era of globalization”. Can the irreducible plurality of cultures find “citizenship” in the new configurations of our world? Should it? In order to philosophically illuminate this crucial issue, we will examine, in the first place, the very idea of ‘culture’, before exploring what can it make possible different realizations. Between the opposed extremes of ideological closure and aesthetical fragmentation, we attempt to address ourselves toward a reasonable agreement susceptible of appealing to certain ethical-spiritual transcendence. This is a sketch, thus, of a logically meaningful dynamic which corresponds to everyone and each one to make historically pertinent.
