Las mujeres y la sociedad patriarcal en tres cuentos de Pilar Dughi

Abstract

The article examines three stories published by Peruvian writer Pilar Dughi (1956-2006) throughout her career as a storyteller: “Conciliación”, “Futuro prometido” and “Los guiños del destino”. The analysis and the interpretation address the representation of their female protagonists from a gender perspective, taking into account the roles, identities and positions that the patriarchal order assigns to them, both in the private and public spheres. The central thesis of the article is that the protagonists, through acceptance or negotiation in their relationships with the opposite sex whether within or outside of marriage , represent the complexity of “being a woman” in a society in which diverse and contradictory discourses on female gender identity coexist.

El artículo examina tres cuentos publicados por la escritora peruana Pilar Dughi (1956-2006) a lo largo de su trayectoria como narradora: “Conciliación”, “Futuro prometido” y “Los guiños del destino”. El análisis y la interpretación abordan la representación de sus protagonistas mujeres desde una perspectiva de género tomando en cuenta los roles, identidades y posiciones que el orden patriarcal les asigna tanto en el ámbito privado como en el público. La tesis central del artículo reside en que las protagonistas, a través de la aceptación o negociación en sus relaciones con el sexo opuesto sea dentro o fuera del vínculo matrimonial, representan la complejidad del “ser mujer” en una sociedad en la que coexisten diversos y contradictorios discursos sobre la identidad de género femenino.
