One of the main problems that rural families in the Sierra de Lima have is their low income, which does not allow them adequate social development. Specifically, the inhabitants of the Chillaco community are mainly engaged in agriculture; having only one economic activity doesn't allow them to invest and increase their production since they do not have the capital. This research proposes a domestic and technical pilot system for breeding guinea pigs with the objective of activating and facilitating complementary economic activity for the rural families of this town. The proposal implies an eco-sustainable guinea pig breeding system design that allows them to take advantage of their resources. Design Thinking was applied as a creative process to solve the problem. The results showed that the proposal facilitates the activity and enables adequate breeding, feeding, reproduction, and cleaning, which is beneficial for both guinea pigs and breeders. Likewise, it was found that, due to its stackable design, more space can be dedicated to this activity, so the implementation of Quwi on a larger scale will increase its production. In conclusion, the pilot allowed us to verify that the design proposal is beneficial for the community both economically and socially. This is because having vertical cages increases their productive capacity and, therefore, their income, and gives the family a certain "status" or position compared to their neighbors who carry out the same activity.
