This paper presents a sustainable business solution that focuses on addressing a relevant social problem in the country and the region. According to UNESCO (2017) in Latin America and the Caribbean, the total rate of children and adolescents who do not read proficiently is 36% and more than half (53% or 19 million) are not able to reach minimum proficiency levels. Due to this alarming figure, the proposed solution focuses on contributing to generate a greater interest in reading among children between 7 and 13 years old in Peru, and later in Colombia, Chile and Argentina. The solution consists of a virtual platform, Story Zone, which provides children with readings according to their reading level, interests and preferences, using gamification, as well as a system of recommendations and rewards according to reading level and achievements in order to break away from traditional reading. It also has an interaction module with parents so that they can monitor and recognise their children's achievements. Story Zone, in addition to generating a positive impact on users by relieving their pain, also generates economic benefits by being financially sustainable, obtaining positive results from year 1, in terms of operating profit and EBITDA. It is also socially sustainable, as it is directly aligned with SDG 4 by promoting quality education, by encouraging interest in reading we will be able to reverse the current indicators of sufficiency in this area. Story Zone is an innovative solution because it aims to create an interest in reading in a friendly, attractive and intuitive environment, using gamification, allied with technology, to break away from traditional reading.
