Abstract
La presente investigación tuvo como propósito determinar el nivel de felicidad de los
ciudadanos que residen en el distrito de Magdalena del Mar. El estudio utilizó un enfoque
cuantitativo, no experimental y sistemático. El instrumento para la recolección de datos fue
una encuesta basada en una herramienta de medición de felicidad The Pemberton Happiness
Index (PHI), la cual fue aplicada a 384 miembros de hogares entre 18 y 65 años de edad que
residen en el distrito de Magdalena del Mar. El PHI analiza el bienestar recordado y
experimentado, el cual consta de 11 y 10 ítems, respectivamente.
Los resultados de las hipótesis planteadas revelaron que los niveles de felicidad de los
ciudadanos del distrito de Magdalena del Mar se encuentran en un rango alto, con un puntaje
obtenido de 8.04, de un máximo posible de 10.00. El puntaje más bajo se presentó en los
ciudadanos no remunerados, seguidos de los menores de 50 años. A su vez, se mostró que los
niveles de felicidad de los hombres fueron los mismos que las mujeres, resultados similares
se obtuvo entre los solteros y casados.
El estudio concluyó que los resultados obtenidos pueden ser servir como base
confiable a fin de la gestión pública del distrito de Magdalena del Mar, para que las
autoridades gubernamentales comprendan la importancia y el impacto de la felicidad en la
sociedad en general, y puedan analizar y promover las propuestas de acción planteadas,
fomentando el estudio y desarrollo de las mediciones de felicidad en las diferentes
localizaciones geográficas del Perú.
The purpose of this research is to determine the level of happiness of citizens residing in the District of Magdalena del Mar. The study uses a quantitative, non-experimental and systematic approach. The instrument for data collection was a survey based on The Pemberton Happiness Index (PHI) that is a happiness measurement tool, it was applied to 384 members of households between 18 and 65 years old living in the District of Magdalena del Mar. The PHI analyzes two main domains: the remembered and experienced wellbeing, which consists of 11 and 10 items respectively. The results of the proposed hypothesis reveal that the happiness levels of the citizens of Magdalena del Mar District were in a high range, with a score of 8.04, over a maximum of 10.00. On the other hand, the lowest score was presented to unpaid citizens, followed by citizens under 50 years old. In turn, it was shown that levels of happiness of men were the same as women, similar results were obtained between single and married citizens. The study concludes that results obtained can be used as a reliable basis for the Public Management on Magdalena del Mar district and government authorities to understand the importance and impact of happiness in society, as well as analyze and promote the proposed action proposals; promoting the study and development of happiness measurements in different geographical locations of Peru.
