La neuropsicología del lenguaje en pacientes con esquizofrenia

Abstract

El presente estudio tiene por objetivo indagar sobre posibles indicadores del funcionamiento cerebral de pacientes con esquizofrenia, según una aproximación neuropsicológica de su lenguaje. Para ello, se aplicó un segmento de la Guía semiológica de neuropsicología elaborada por Lefèvre y Nitrini (1985) a tres pacientes ambulatorios diagnosticados con esquizofrenia, en dos instituciones psiquiátricas. La guía utilizada consta de cuatro áreas específicas: Entrevista inicial, Habla receptiva, Habla expresiva y Lectura y escritura. Los resultados muestran como posibles indicadores de funcionamiento cerebral anómalo principalmente a los córtex frontal y temporal izquierdos. Se discuten similitudes, diferencias y estilos de procesamiento de la información de los participantes.

The present study investigates about possible indicators of brain functioning in patients with schizophrenia, according to a neuropsychological approach to their language. Therefore, it was applied the Semiological guide of neuropsychology elaborated by Lefèvre and Nitrini (1985) on three outpatients diagnosed with schizophrenia, at two different psychiatric institutions. The guide consists of four specific areas: Initial interview, Receptive speech, Expressive speech and Reading and writing. Results show as possible abnormal brain function markers mainly the left frontal and temporal cortex. Results are discussed in relation to similarities, differences and information-processing styles of the participants.
