The issue of work adjustment of expatriate managers is examined in this paper. The results confirm the existence of dimensions and factors widely discussed in international human resources management literature but also emphasize others related to the characteristics of the expatriation’s environment. The paper also includes a discussion of the key role of personal relationships in achieving a successful adjustment in Latin American subsidiaries.en_US
