Abstract
The article develops a genealogy in arts and design fields and its relations from the Industrial Revolution, in which artists, architects and theorists settled discursive basis of what now is known as design and cultural industries, and the transformations of arts conception. From this, it looks for the contemporary processes that relate art and design, such as, interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary.
