Resumen
Las investigaciones respecto a la carga laboral en las mujeres han sido ampliamente
estudiadas en la sociología. La relevancia del tema se centra en evidenciar la situación
de desigualdad que se encuentran las mujeres, especialmente aquellas quienes son
madres o tienen a cargo el cuidado de una persona. Esta desigualdad se debe a que
las mujeres tienen más carga laboral a comparación de los hombres: doble jornada
laboral. Esta carga alude, por una parte, a las responsabilidades y expectativas
laborales que deben responder las madres; y, por otra parte, las responsabilidades
familiares como el trabajo doméstico y el cuidado de los hijos y adultos mayores. Si
bien existen diversos mecanismos para lidiar las responsabilidades domésticas
(contrato de niñeras, trabajadoras del hogar, guarderías, entre otros), la situación de
las madres respecto a la carga laboral y familiar se ha acentuado debido al cambio
laboral a trabajo remoto por la pandemia del Covid-19. Por ello, la presente
investigación pretende indagar de qué manera las mujeres trabajadoras del sector
público (Poder Judicial y Ministerio Público) concilian sus responsabilidades laborales
y familiares en un contexto de trabajo remoto y semipresencial.
Research on women's workload has been widely studied in sociology. The relevance of the subject is focused on highlighting the situation of inequality that women find themselves in, especially those who are mothers or caregivers. This inequality is due to the fact that women have a heavier workload than men: a double working day. This burden refers, on the one hand, to the work responsibilities and expectations that mothers have to meet, and, on the other hand, to family responsibilities such as domestic work and caring for children and the elderly. Although there are various mechanisms for dealing with domestic responsibilities (nanny contracts, domestic workers, childcare, among others), the situation of mothers with regard to work and family responsibilities has been accentuated due to the shift to remote work as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, this research aims to investigate how women workers in the public sector (Judiciary and Public Prosecutor's Office) reconcile their work and family responsibilities in a context of remote and semi-presential work.
