estudios futuros.
The effectiveness of a program designed and implemented to enhance reading skills in two male teenagers diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), aged 14 and 17 years. Behaviors corresponding to four indicators were defined and registered: visual fixation time, reading speed, reading accuracy and reading quality. This occurred through the use of footage video recordings and their posterior observation to calculate the above mentioned indicators. Visual fixation time on the text, measured by the difference between the whole reading time and the number of seconds the student looks away from the text, increased. Likewise, an increase in reading speed, measured by the number of words they read per minute. Regarding the accuracy and the amount of reading, both improved; both students were able to pronounce correctly more words and had a more fluent reading rhythm. Recommendations for future studies are included.
