‘La Capitulación de Ayacucho’ de Daniel Hernández: Del hecho al lienzo

Abstract

This article is a study that aims to reconstruct, from the limited available sources, the creation process of the painting Capitulation of Ayacucho by the national artist Daniel Hernández, within the context of the centennial commemorations of the Battle of Ayacucho in 1924. This information covers the depiction of the historical event and its protagonists, the background, motivations, and interpretations of the work, and the culmination of a series of celebrations surrounding the centenary.El presente artículo es un estudio que pretende reconstruir, a partir de las pocas fuentes disponibles, el proceso de creación del lienzo Capitulación de Ayacucho del artista nacional Daniel Hernández, en el marco de las conmemoraciones del Centenario de la Batalla de Ayacucho en 1924. Esta información va desde la representación del evento histórico y sus protagonistas hasta los antecedentes, las motivaciones e interpretaciones a la obra, así como a la conclusión de una serie de celebraciones en torno al centenario.
