Abstract
La reseña analiza las representaciones británicas sobre América Latina desde el siglo XVI al XX, a partir de obras literarias clave. Ramírez estudia cómo estas narrativas construyeron un “discurso americanista” vinculado a la hegemonía imperial británica. Destaca la evolución y ambivalencia de estas imágenes según los contextos históricos. La obra contribuye al diálogo entre historia, literatura y estudios culturales.
