Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo caracterizar la construcción de la identidad vocacional
de estudiantes de la carrera de Música de Lima Metropolitana a través de sus experiencias en
el proceso de elección de carrera. Para cumplirlo, la metodología se ubicó en un paradigma
cualitativo con enfoque fenomenológico y un diseño de análisis fenomenológico interpretativo.
El grupo de participantes fue de 6 estudiantes de una universidad privada de Lima
Metropolitana. Para recoger la información, se utilizó una entrevista a profundidad con una
guía semiestructurada. Los resultados muestran que el colegio, los amigos y docentes de los
participantes favorecieron la exploración y compromiso con la carrera. Por otro lado, la familia
propició una exploración profunda, pero opuso resistencia a la elección de Música como
carrera. En relación a esto, pudieron realizar una exploración profunda en el área musical,
aunque no amplia en otras opciones. Además, manifestaron identificarse con el compromiso
con la Música y casi ninguno expresó dudas con respecto a la carrera. Por último, se encontró
que la autoeficacia y la perspectiva de tiempo futuro influyeron en los procesos de exploración,
compromiso y reconsideración de la carrera.
This research aimed to characterize the vocational identity construction of Metropolitan Lima Music students through their experiences in the career choice process. To fulfill it, the methodology was located in a qualitative paradigm with a phenomenological approach and an interpretive phenomenological analysis design. The participants were 6 students from a private university in Metropolitan Lima. To collect the information, an in-depth interview with a semistructured guide was used. The results show that the school, friends and teachers of the participants favored exploration and commitment to the career. On the other hand, the family encouraged a deep exploration, but they resisted the choice of Music as a career. In relation to this, they were able to carry out an in-depth exploration in the musical area, although not an inbreadth exploration in other career options. Additionally, they stated that they identified with the commitment to Music and almost none expressed doubts regarding the career. Finally, it was found that self-efficacy and future time perspective influenced the processes of career exploration, commitment and reconsideration.
