The aim of the study was the design and measure the effectiveness of a remedial program conceived from a neuropsychological perspective, having as objective the development of mathematical competences in children of second grade of primary school who present learning difficulties in mathematics. The sample was composed of 8 students (3 girls and 5 boys) who study at a public school in Ate. Of these participants, 4 children were part of the remedial program and 4 were not. The results showed that who were part of the program developed mathematical competences that allowed them to face the Early Mathematical Assesment Test satisfactorily once the program ended. In the same way, variations between the answers obtained from both groups were identified, where in the first of them the children obtained markedly higher scores in the evaluation carried out at the end of the program compared to the initial evaluation; while in the group of children who wasn´t part of the program, the variations were minimal, with slight increases.
