Abstract
El curso Restauración de Monumentos de la Facultad de Arquitectura de la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú traba ja cada semestre con una comunidad diferente, donde la presencia del patrimonio construido, en cualquiera de sus facetas, es importante tanto por lo que significa en términos simbólicos como por las posibilidades a futuro que este puede catalizar. En el semestre 2017-2 se traba jó con Lobitos, Piura. Este es uno de los Company Towns más antiguos del país, emblemático en muchos aspectos, incluso en lo referente al descuido y deterioro que presenta. La experiencia que aquí se describe muestra la manera de abordar el caso específico como un ejemplo de la metodología general del curso.
The course Restoration of Monuments given in the Architecture department of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru works each semester with a different community, where the presence of the built heritage, in any of its facets, is important both for what it means in symbolic terms and for the future possibilities that it can catalyze. In the semester 2017-2, the class worked with Lobitos, Piura. This is one of the oldest Company Towns in the country, emblematic in many aspects, even in relation to the neglect and deterioration that it presents today. The experience described here shows the approach to the specific case as an example of the general methodology of the course.
