This research project is developed from the study of masculinities with a focus on the design of male clothing. Taking as a central topic, the study of the event of the Great Renunciation of the 19th century and the influence of said event in the contemporary male clothing design. Which validates the existence of a hegemonic masculinity version that stands as a norm and imposes itself as a model to follow, invalidating anyone who does not resemble it. In this sense, the problem arises about the existence of non-hegemonic masculinities in a context of masculinity crisis, located within Latin American societies that respond to nineteenth-century bourgeois aesthetics. For which, the creation of a fashion collection is proposed in order to reject the guidelines proposed by the Great Renunciation from the expression of resistance to the norm through the design resources applied in the proposal and so, to question the imposed models of patriarchal hegemonic masculinity present in society.
