menos ocasiones.
The objective of this research was to study the relationship between the problematic use of social networks (PUSN) and academic stress (AS) in university students in Metropolitan Lima during the COVID-19 pandemic. For this, 122 students participated, 79 women, 41 men and 2 students who preferred not to mention their sex, between 18 and 30 years old (M = 21.95 years, SD = 2.40) of which 46.7% were in the Middle of the degree, 27.9% at the Beginning and 25.4% at the End. The instruments used were the Social Network Addiction Questionnaire (SNAQ) by Escurra and Salas (2014) and the Systemic Cognitivist Inventory for the study of Academic Stress SISCO SV-21 (Barraza, 2018). A positive, significant correlation of medium size was found between the PUSN and the AS. Likewise, the 18 to 21 year old group obtained a medium-sized positive correlation between the PUSN and the AS. Regarding sex, women showed correlations between the PUSN and the AS. With respect to the study cycle, it was found that in the dimensions Obsession with social networks and Stressors, students who were at the beginning of the degree had higher scores compared to those who were in advanced cycles. Finally, regarding the frequency of use, it was found that students who reviewed social networks All the time had higher scores in UPRS compared to those who reviewed social networks on fewer occasions.
