Abstract
RingByName es un caso real de una empresa de Tecnología de Comunicaciones Norteamericana que
luego de quince años enfrenta el reto proveniente de los cambios en la industria y territorio de operación
original que les obliga a evaluar una estrategia de rediseñar su producto y considerar una expansión
territorial que le permita aumentar su rentabilidad a la vez de expandirse hacia mercados
internacionales.
Le empresa en estudio; Inphonex inició operaciones en un contexto del cambio tecnológico de la
industria de Comunicaciones hacia VoIP brindando servicios al mayoreo a empresas proveedoras de
soluciones de comunicación que a su vez revendían dichos servicios a consumidores finales.
Luego de la evolución del mercado Inphonex decide crear un producto que le permita innovar utilizando
la nueva tendencia de Comunicaciones Unificadas como Servicio (UCaaS) y llegar con una oferta
integrada eficiente, de alto valor y con capacidad de ser adquirida, instalada y utilizada directamente por
las Pequeñas y Medianas Empresas.
El caso transcurre alrededor de la mente del CEO de la empresa el cual tiene la responsabilidad de
analizar la evolución de la industria desde una perspectiva de pionero, creador de servicios y líder de la
compañía; en un contexto en el que por un lado cuenta con las limitantes de una industria con
información de mercado escasa pero por otro cuenta como empresa con diferenciadores por
competencias en desarrollo y prestación de tecnologías de servicios los cuales pueden ser transferidas a
nuevos mercados y territorios a raves de la Internet y las plataformas de comercio electrónico lo cual
podría permitir una expansión.
RingByName es precisamente el producto que diseñó Inphonex para capturar la oportunidad generada
por evolución en su industria: una solución que toma las funciones más importantes de comunicaciones

RingByName is a real case of a U.S. telecommunication company that after fifteen years of operation faces the need to evolve in order to adapt and leverage on changes in the industry and their current territory. This shift requires them to evaluate a strategy of redesigning their product and also consider an expansion in order to increase profitability while tapping into international markets. The company under study; Inphonex originally started operations in a moment when the communications industry started moving into VoIP. They launched operations as a provider of wholesale VoIP services to companies that resold these servicers to final consumers. After witnessing the Telecommunications Industry trend towards Unified Communications as a service (UCaaS) Inphonex decided to create a product that allowed them to leverage on the new shift by adding other key services to their original offer in an efficient integrated offer with a highly perceived value, ease of use and reachable most importantly that could be acquired and implemented directly by small and medium-sized companies.
