Abstract
San Fernando S.A. it is a leader in the domestic market, with more than sixty years in breeding, production and marketing of chicken and turkey. In the past five years the company achieved significant commercial success, reflected in an average growth of 10% annually. However, on average, net profit of the company fell 10% annually during the same period. These indicators were the first component of the financial analysis, which main objective was to determine the value of the company and propose alternative financial restructuring to enable it to achieve greater profitability. It was determined that the results of the company are exposed to variables whose values are determined by the market, as are the prices of chicken, corn and soybeans, as well as the exchange rate for its imports and that these variables are not correlated statistically. It was concluded that San Fernando could increase its value as follows: more efficient inventory management by reducing turnover, using derivative financial instruments to mitigate market fluctuations and to continue the policy of investments in facilities and genetic research that favor the Performance of poultry meat
