The purpose of this study was to describe and understand representations from psychoanalysis that two boys and a girl, 6, 8 and 9 years respectively, have their pets, from understanding them, describe the link. To meet these objectives we used a qualitative methodology through a case study, using the following techniques of data collection: data sheet, participant observation, graphical tools and semi-structured interview. The results show the existence of common representations of pet among the three children, namely: the pet as a constant companion, and another which give and receive affection which, as another which provide care, and as another potentially aggressive. In addition, representations were unique in each child, such as the pet as a one on which to project sexual curiosities, or another interest that is related, among others. These representations allowed for an approach to link each child with your pet, observed in all cases a clear influence of family relationships on it, without being determined. Finally, we observed in the three children the experience of solitude in a strong family environment that could be associated with establishing a bond with their pets.
