No somos otros: Habitar desde la frontera

Abstract

¿Qué me une y qué me separa de otros? ¿Hasta qué punto soy otro? ¿Hasta qué punto soy yo? ¿Quién define estos puntos? La siguiente investigación teórico – artístican busca reconocer y visibilizar cuáles son los límites en la construcción de de la identidad. Se cuestiona en qué medida cada individuo y sociedad puede realmente definirse y qué formas de poder controlan también estas definiciones. A partir de aquí, se toma como objetivo indagar y explorar las formas de poder y las construcciones sociales en las que se desarrollan los límites y las relaciones dentro de una comunidad, así como las de estas con otras comunidades. Para ello, se reconoce el contexto de un mundo interconectado para el enfoque en la relación entre el individuo y el territorio; y en las relaciones sociales generadas frente al concepto de la otredad. En el proceso artístico, el proyecto utiliza distintos medios y materialidades para trabajar sobre la visualidad del cuerpo y el territorio. La producción artística busca el límite entre el yo, el otro y el nosotros pues comprende que la identidad individual y colectiva se ven atravesadas por formas de poder sociales e institucionales, pero que también se albergan en la subjetividad del individuo en relación a un espacio y a un tiempo, y a su forma de entenderse dentro del mismo. La presente investigación – creación propone finalmente al límite como un espacio de encuentro, cambio y tránsito para reflexionar sobre su necesidad y su fuerza.

¿What brings me closer to the others and what separates me from them? ¿To what extent am I the other? ¿To what extent am I me? ¿Who defines these points? The following theorical – artistical research, seeks to recognize and make visible what are the limits in the identity construction. It questions to what degree a person and a society can define itself and how social constructions play a role in the establishment of the limits and relationships of communities. This research focuses in the actual context of an interconnected world, to understand the relationships created between the individual and the territory as well as the social relationships created with the others. In the artistic process, the project uses different media and materials to work with the image of the body and the territory. The artistic production looks for the limit between me, the others and us because it understands that the individual and the collective identity is influenced by social, political and economic institutions but also by the subjectivity of each person. Finally, the following research and creation, proposes to understand the limit as a space of encounter, change and transit, to apprehend it for its necessity and strength.
