Abstract
The objective of this study is to analyze the relationship between sleep quality with academic stress and well-being in 224 students from 7 faculties of careers in letters and 3 science careers from a private university in Lima, from second to tenth cycle. The Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index (ICSP), the SISCO inventory of academic stress and the well-being scales, SPANE and flourishing were used for the measurement. It was found that the sleep quality correlated significantly with all the dimensions of the academic stress scale: perceived academic stress (r = .32, p <.01), stressors (r = .28, p <.01), symptoms (r = .47, p <.01) and with the well-being scales: positive affects (r = -.19, p <.01), negative affects (r = .37, p <.01), flowering (r = -.25, p <.01). In addition, it was found that 67% of the students have poor sleep quality, 85.7% of the participants reported a level of worry or nervousness in an average since medium high to high intensity; and there is a greater presence of positive affect than negative. Differences were found according to sex in all psychological variables except for stressors and flourishing. On the other hand, older students who get a job, have more physical symptoms, students who were born in Lima and study careers of letters have more behavioral symptoms; and, the students who are finishing the race have a higher level of flourishing compared to those who are starting.
