Santiago y Buenos Aires: la actividad económica en la frontera sur del virreinato del Perú en el siglo XVII

Abstract

A partir de datos cuantitativos en las fronteras del virreinato del Perú, este artículo ensaya sobre el significado del “Pacto colonial” y la “Corrupción”, desarrollando algunas hipótesis sobre la política Imperial de los Habsburgo en el área. Esos datos cuantitativos han sido procesados con instrumentos estadísticos sencillos, con el propósito de poner las cifras dentro de una marco analítico. Después de una breve introducción (Sección 1), hay una discusión sobre las fuentes y una explicación sobre la metodología (Sección II). El análisis, en sí, sobre los datos cuantitativos está desarrollado luego (Sección III y Sección IV). Cerrando el artículo, el lector encontrará las reflexiones finales.From quantitative data at the border of Peru’s viceroyalty, this article deals with the meaning of “Colonial pact” and “Corruption” and develops some hypothesis about the Imperial Policy in this area, under Habsbourg’s rule. The quantitative data has been processed using basic statistical tools, in order to put figures into an analytical framework, and to test any previous hypothesis. The conclusion take the ideas coming up from this framework. After a brief introduction (Part I), a discussion on sources and an explanation about methodology procedures has been set (Part II). The analysis of quantitative data itself has been developed thereafter (Part III and Part IV). Closing the essay, the reader will find the final observations offered (Part V).
