This research seeks to determine the influence of using a cell phone while driving and is aimed at PUCP students in the 2019-2020 period. Its main goal is to raise awareness and empower young PUCP students through a Communications campaign in driving education content regarding inappropriate driving behavior and the use of cell phones while driving, to reduce the negative consequences of reckless driving which, according to the World Health Organization (2017), causes the death of around 1.3 million people each year and is the main cause of death in people aged 15 to 29. In our country, the PNP stated that in 2017, 25% of all accidents were caused by people using cell phones while driving, and in 2018, 30% of drivers aged 18 to 29 have been involved in traffic accidents. Likewise, young drivers face a variety of problems and situations that influence their driving every day. A two-phase market study was carried out in order to prove this research. , the first phase was a qualitative study and the second was quantitative, both resulting in a road safety education initiative with digital actions and innovative activities called “Cero Paltas al Volante”, whose main themes revolve around traffic and driving in Lima, factors that influence driving and possible distractions. The first campaign has as its theme the distractions at the wheel called “Segundos de vía”. This project’s proposal consists of the development of the first phase of the campaign, which is aimed at PUCP students. Future work consists of extending the scope to other universities and institutes nationwide
