Psychometric Properties of the Life Orientation Test-Revised in an University Sample from Lima Metropolitan The study analyses the psychometric properties of the Inventory Vital (LOT-R) of Scheier, et al., (1994), in a group of 302 students from Lima, Perú, from both sexes and whose ages fluctuate between 16 and 30 years of age. The instruments used were HHS-R IDARE-R and BDI-II in order to determine the convergent validity of the Life Orientation Test-Revised (LOT-R). Results show moderated reliability indexes. The factorial structure was two-dimensional with two factors with a 53.92% of explained variance. A .54 coefficient for the whole test and a 0.55 for each of the areas of the test. The correlation between the Life Orientation Test-Revised and the Hope Scale resulted positive, high and significant and between the anxiety and depression inventory were negative, moderated and significatives, thus confirming the validity convergent and divergent, alsothe reliability of the inventory for similar populations.
