Percepción del trabajo en la comunidad en miembros de equipos de una institución de salud mental

Abstract

Este estudio apunta a conocer la percepción del trabajo en la comunidad de miembros de equipos de una institución de salud mental. Se buscó comprender qué significa para ellos y ellas trabajar en salud mental en la comunidad, explorar sobre la situación en la que trabajan los equipos y conocer la opinión que tienen acerca del trabajo ya realizado. El método fue cualitativo y el recojo de información se dio a partir de una entrevista semi-estructurada, basada en una guía elaborada por la investigadora tras una revisión teórica del tema. La investigación se realizó con un grupo de 10 profesionales de salud mental, 7 mujeres y 3 hombres cuya experiencia de trabajo fluctuaba entre los 4 a 33 años. Se categorizó la información recogida a partir de los objetivos específicos y la pregunta de investigación, posteriormente se realizó el análisis de contenido. Entre los resultados, se halló que consideran que su trabajo supone intervenciones colectivas, que es coherente con la realidad y que genera sentimientos contradictorios. La situación en la que trabajan supone dificultades a partir de recursos insuficientes, poco apoyo institucional, burocracia y separación por profesiones. Su trabajo se vio facilitado por diferentes perspectivas, ser soltero o soltera y relacionarse con la comunidad. Tienen una opinión positiva acerca de su desempeño y consideran que han tenido diversos logros aunque aún tienen retos en el futuro. Entonces, los participantes perciben que su trabajo es colectivo, coherente y que genera sentimientos contradictorios, que hay dificultades principalmente institucionales pero también aspectos que facilitan su trabajo, y también, que han tenido logros importantes pero que aún hay retos a futuro.

This study aims to approach the perception of the community work of members of a mental health team. We sought to understand what it means for them to work in mental health in the community, to explore the situation in which the teams work and getting feedback on the work they have done already. The method was qualitative and the gathering of information was from a semi-structured interview, based on a guide developed by the researcher after a theoretical revision of the subject. The research was conducted with a group of 10 mental health professionals, 7 women and 3 men whose work experience ranged from 4 to 33 years. Content analysis was performed and the information was categorized from the specific objectives and the research question. Among the results, it was found that they consider that their work involves collective interventions, is consistent with reality and generates mixed feelings. The work situation involves difficulties from inadequate resources, little institutional support, bureaucracy and separation of professions and their work was facilitated by different perspectives, being single and the interaction with the community. They have a positive opinion about their performance and consider that they have had many achievements but still face challenges in the future. Then, participants perceived that their work is collective, coherent and generates mixed feelings, there are difficulties mainly institutional but also aspects that facilitate their work, they think they have had significant achievements but there are still challenges ahead.
