estudio.
The purpose of this research is to get to know which are the definitions of Smart Process the business or the process leaders have and the barriers to its full development between MYPEs in the metropolitan area of Lima during 2022. For this matter, important terms such as local network and Smart Process have been defined in order to allow the unification of multiple concepts and focus them into reality of investigated environments for MYPEs. A review of the various scenarios Smart Process is following around the world was also made, from its origins in Germany in 2012 to multiple implementation approaches such as technological adoptions, related State policies and higher education center’s participation in these matters that are being conducted in public and private levels in Peru. This research has been conducted under a qualitative approach with purely descriptive purposes of the reality nowadays at the specific moment being lived by MYPEs in Lima. In addition, the method used was the study of multiple cases and the instrument used to collect the data was semi-structured interviews. Atlas TI software was then used for data analysis. The results obtained have allowed to establish that the barriers preventing Smart Process implementation in MYPEs in Lima during 2022 focus on the following levels: (a) local network infrastructure concentrated on the lack of infrastructure, precarious local network and deficient levels of internet, (b) human resources aligned with the lack of trained personnel, (c) government Support related to the lack of investment and financing and (d) financial Costs associated with high investment costs. All these elements have prevented Smart Process from being implemented in MYPEs in the metropolitan area of Lima without excluding others not foreseen by the researchers during this investigation. Finally, recommendations are provided for reference in future investigations regarding this topic.
