Burnout y personalidad en enfermeras de un hospital militar

Abstract

La presente investigación busca conocer las relaciones entre los 5 factores de la personalidad y las 3 dimensiones del burnout en una muestra de 55 enfermeras de la unidad hospitalaria de Medicina Interna de un hospital militar. Para ello, se utilizó el Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) y el NEO-FFI. Se obtuvieron correlaciones inversas entre los factores de personalidad extraversión, apertura al cambio, agradabilidad y conciencia, y las dimensiones de agotamiento emocional, despersonalización y realización personal. Por ello, se concluye que los factores de personalidad guardan relación con el despliegue del síndrome de burnout.

The aim of the present study was to understand the relationship between the five factors of personality and the three dimensions of burnout in a sample of 55 nurses working in an Internal Medicine Unit of a military hospital. For this propose, we used the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) and the NEO-FFI. Inverse correlations were found between extraversion, openness, agreeableness and consciousness, with the dimensions of emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and personal accomplishment. We concluded that personality factors are related to the development of the syndrome.
