Currently in Peru, art museums offer different educational approaches for adults as well as for teenagers and children. Educational programs have become the activity par excellence for school students. Art education is finding in art museums a space for innovation and research in education. The educational programs offered for adolescent students are diverse, as well as the strategies and formative resources. Adolescent students have an opportunity to approach art appreciation in a different way than what is customary in the classroom. Therefore, a research is proposed to answer the question: How does the formative strategy of an art museum in Lima contribute to the development of the curricular competence "Critically appreciate artistic-cultural manifestations" in third grade high school students, from the perception of teachers of a private educational institution in Lima? For this purpose, we worked under the qualitative approach, using the case study method, and to obtain information from our participants we used the semi-structured interview. Among the main findings, we found a positive evaluation of the formative strategies of an art museum for the contribution to the learning of art appreciation. The formative strategies of an art museum offer possibilities for a different kind of learning, which reinforces critical reflection with flexible formats, direct contact with art and diversification of participation.
