This research gives voice to six audiovisual women immersed in the Peruvian film industry, telling what it means to be an audiovisual woman; their experiences, their process, their challenges, expectations and how complicated it is to work in film as a woman in Peru. For this purpose, this empirical and descriptive research was carried out with a qualitative methodology that gathers relevant academic information on the subject and then, through indepth interviews, identify the conditions and alternatives for audiovisual women in their work. As a result, interviewees point to several experiences of sexism, lack of opportunity, harassment, and discrimination to which they were exposed directly and indirectly. In addition, they show alternatives and responses of an emotional, cognitive, and behavioral nature, such as strength, confrontation, and support between colleagues. In this way, the hypothesis that the path of women in the industry is complicated, since it is conditioned by the historical and social context in which they live, is proven. It is for these reasons that women face various challenges and seek solutions to be able to develop professionally as any man in the industry.
