Abstract
lectora.
Being a competent communicative person is promoted from the school stage. During basic education, students obtain skills related to the area of Communication that allow them to analyze and interpret reality through the appropriation of language as a fundamental tool. Due to the great variety of strategies that allow consolidating the development of communication skills, reading aloud appears as a strategy that facilitates this learning. This research analyzes the relationship between the reading aloud strategy and the development of competencies in the area of Communication. The methodology responds to a documentary analysis, in which articles, academic papers, online newspapers and government documents were addressed. The bibliography found was systematized through the use of three matrices: initial, bibliographic and systematization. The study comprises three main sections corresponding to each of the competences in the Communication area: oral expression, comprehension of texts and writing of texts. The work shows the relationship between reading aloud in all the competences of the Communication area. However, in the skills of oral expression and writing of texts, the link is not so close with respect to the competence of text comprehension, due to the scarce existing information. Finally, it is expected that this research will serve as a basis for interested parties for future research on the subject, since most of the current literature consists mainly of the acquisition of reading comprehension strategies.
