Resumen
El análisis de la experiencia de Chami Radio, en la provincia de Otuzco - Región
La Libertad, frente a la problemática de la mortalidad materna, tiene por objetivo
conocer el rol educativo que cumplió esta radio comunitaria para la reducción de
muertes maternas. El estudio se realiza con la finalidad de proponer
recomendaciones que permitan optimizar la gestión de dicha radio, como
instrumento de cambio en la salud de las mujeres en el ámbito rural.
La metodología cualitativa que es empleada en la presente investigación, nos
permitirá profundizar en el análisis de la gestión de la radio y en las estrategias
que emplea para enfrentar la problemática de las gestantes en la comunidad
para asistir al control del embarazo y parto institucionalizado. El estudio de caso
con las técnicas de la entrevista y la revisión documental aportarán a realizar el
análisis y obtener resultados aplicables sobre todo al caso estudiado, y en cierta
medida a otros casos con características y condiciones similares.
La radio como medio de comunicación social en muchos lugares de la zona
rural, es un aliado estratégico para trasmitir información, fortalecer conocimientos
y para promover cambios de comportamientos para mejorar la salud. La radio,
por su contribución e importancia, en la generación de cambios, debe ser
considerado en la gerencia social como una herramienta indispensable para el
desarrollo de los pueblos.
El rol gravitante que ha tenido Chami Radio en la reducción de la mortalidad
materna en la provincia de Otuzco en La Libertad, ha demostrado que es un
actor social clave en esta localidad, y dadas sus características como radio
educativa y comunitaria, contribuyó a mejorar este gran problema de salud. Por
ello a los integrantes de Chami Radio se les recomienda poner mayor énfasis en
sus procesos de planificación, de modo que las acciones en favor del cambio
social que buscan, sean sostenibles, permanentes y articuladas.
La recomendación a las autoridades de salud, es para incorporar a la radio como
una herramienta de prevención y promoción de la salud, particularmente en la
zona rural.
The analysis of the experience of Chami Radio, in the province of Otuzco - La Libertad Region, facing the issue of maternal mortality, on what the present research is about, aims to know the role it played as an educational community radio to contribute to the reduction of maternal deaths, with the purpose of proposing recommendations that allow to optimize their management as an instrument of social change in rural areas. For this reason, the qualitative methodology is the strategy used to be the method that allows us to deepen, not only in the analysis of the radio, but also in the strategies that it uses to face the problematic of the community around it, conducting a study Of case with the techniques of the interview and the documentary revision. It is concluded that the radio as a means of social communication in rural areas constitutes a strategic ally in the search for changes in behaviors necessary to face social problematic generally, so, it is an element that, due to its contribution and importance, must be considered by social management as an indispensable tool for the development of towns. It´s stands the gravy roll that has played in the reduction of maternal mortality in the province of Otuzco in La Libertad , demonstrating that it is a key social actor in this locality, which is committed to the needs of its community, given their Characteristics is consolidated in an educational community radio that seeks social transformation; but which, at the same time, suffers from the excessive trust that the experience gives, developing its actions, on this subject, in an empirical way. The recommendation directed to the health authorities, specifically the Ministry of Health, is related to the importance of including radio in its planning processes as a tool of great relevance in the promotion of health, particularly in rural areas. A Chami Radio members are encouraged to put more emphasis on their planning processes so that the actions for social change they seek are sustainable and not isolated.
