Representaciones de apego, seguridad del apego y problemas de conducta en niños preescolares

La presente investigación tiene como objetivo comparar la relación entre la seguridad del apego con la madre (dimensión comportamental del apego) y los problemas de conducta con la asociación entre las representaciones de apego (dimensión representacional del apego) y los problemas de conducta en niños preescolares de NSE bajo. Participaron 37 niños cuyas edades oscilaron entre 36 y 59 meses (M = 44.97, DE = 7.17) y sus madres con edades entre 21 y 42 años (M = 27.89, DE = 5.34). La seguridad del apego y las representaciones de apego fueron evaluadas a través del Attachment Q-Set 3.0 (Waters, 1995) y el Attachment Story Completion Task (Bretherton, Ridgeway, & Cassidy, 1990) respectivamente; por su parte, los problemas de conducta fueron evaluados a través del Child Behavior Checklist 1½-5 (Achenbach & Rescorla, 2000). La seguridad del apego no estuvo asociada a ninguna de las escalas de los problemas de conducta, mientras que las representaciones de apego sólo se relacionaron marginalmente con los problemas externalizantes y la escala de problemas de atención. Al comparar las correlaciones, sólo se hallaron diferencias marginales entre la seguridad del apego y las representaciones de apego con respecto a la escala global de problemas de conducta, los problemas externalizantes y las conductas agresivas. Además, como objetivo específico se buscó explorar la relación entre la seguridad del apego y las representaciones de apego entre los niños participantes y no se halló una asociación significativa.
The objective of this investigation is to compare the relation between attachment security with the mother (behavioral dimension of attachment) and the behavioral problems with the relation between attachment representations (representational dimension of attachment) and the behavioral problems in preschool children of a low SES. There were 37 children that participated in this study. They are around 36 and 59 months of age (M = 44.97, DE = 7.17) and their mothers are around 21 and 42 years old (M = 27.89, DE = 5.34). Attachment security and attachment representations were assessed through the Attachment Q-Set 3.0 (Waters, 1995) and the Attachment Story Completion Task (Bretherton, Ridgeway, Cassidy, 1900) respectively. In addition, the behavioral problems were measured by the Child Behavior Checklist 1½-5 (Achenbach & Rescorla, 2000). Attachment security was not related to any of the scales of the behavioral problems, while attachment representations were only related marginally with the externalizing problems and the attention problems´s scale. When comparing the correlations, differences were only found between the attachment security and the attachment representations regarding the global scale of the behavioral problems, the externalizing problems and the aggressive behaviors. Furthermore, as a specific objective, this study aims to explore the relation between attachment security and attachment representations on the children sample. A significant association was not found.
