Assessment of Violence Risk in Youth- SAVRY a 30 adolescentes varones en conflicto con
This research aims to evaluate the risk of recidivism among young offenders on probation in the city of Lima, Peru. The sample consisted of 30 male adolescents, aged between 15 and 17 years (M = 16.57; SD = .73). This evaluation was done through the Chilean adaptation of the Youth Level of Service/Case Management Inventory- YLS/CMI and the Spanish adaptation of Structured Assessment of Violence Risk in Youth- SAVRY. Results showed that 46.7% of adolescents had a Low Risk while 53.3% were classified as Moderate Risk. Moreover, the mean of the total score of both instruments was lower than reported in others studies (YLS/CMI: 9.83, SD=6.19; SAVRY: M=12.60, SD=6.99). Regarding the specific objectives, no statistically significant differences were found according to socioeducational measures or infraction. Moreover, no significant correlation was found between the risk of recidivism and the time of contact with the center. The findings allowed us to confront the extended idea that offenders showed a high risk recidivism and, at the same time, discuss the need of designing and implementing interventions that considered criminogenic needs.
