Resumen
La presente investigación buscó explorar los significados y vivencias asociadas a las
relaciones románticas heterosexuales en un grupo de mujeres adolescentes de 16 a 17
años de sector socieconómico medio alto de Lima Metropolitana. El estudio es de tipo
exploratorio con una metodología cualitativa y se realizaron doce entrevistas en
profundidad. Los resultados dan cuenta de una compleja y amplia gama de experiencia
romántica, conformada por relaciones románticas formales e informales y diversas
categorías al interior de las mismas. Se observa la influencia de la construcción de
género y del amor romántico en los significados y vivencias de las relaciones
románticas adolescentes, manteniéndose aún la presencia de mandatos de género
tradicionales que llevan a la idealización de las relaciones formales. Asimismo, se
encuentra que la experimentación de la sexualidad, es un tema que suscita atención y
preocupación tanto para la adolescente y su pareja, como para los pares y los padres,
corroborándose que esta constituye un componente característico de la experiencia
romántica que se torna en un motor vivencial que organiza el mundo afectivo en la
adolescencia. La influencia de los pares es también central en la vivencia de la relación
romántica, evidenciándose el impacto del entorno social en la experiencia romántica y
viceversa. Finalmente, se encuentran efectos tanto positivos como negativos vinculados
a estas relaciones, las cuales implican aprendizajes significativos que favorecen el
desarrollo de habilidades sociales para las adolescentes.
The following research aimed to explore the meanings and experiences associated to heterosexual romantic relationships of a group of teenage girls aged between 16 and 17 years of upper-middle socioeconomic class of Lima Metropolitana. The study is exploratory and has a qualitative methodology. To achieve the objective twelve in-depth interviews were conducted. The results show a complex and wide range of romantic experience, made of formal and informal romantic relationships and various categories within them. Influence of gender and romantic love in the conceptions and experiences of adolescent romantic relationships were found and the traditional gender mandates that lead to the idealization of formal relationships is still maintaining. It was also found that sexual experimentation is a topic of attention and concern for teenagers, their couples, peers and parents. Thereby, it is an important component of the romantic experience that organizes the emotional world of the teenagers. The peer influence is also important in the romantic relationship which shows the impact of social environment in romantic experience. Finally, there are both positive and negative effects associated with these relationships, which lead to the learning of social skills for adolescents.
