In our country, family and gender violence are quite complex problems that affect the entire society, where minors suffer serious consequences. As problems are so deeply rooted and normalized by society, the development of critical thinking in adolescents is a necessary tool to combat them. In this sense, the school is committed to strengthening the criticality of students. Then, from the area of Art and Culture, it is proposed to strengthen the critical thinking of students, in the face of family and gender violence, through theatrical creation. In this way, this study proposes to answer the following research problem: What is the perception about the contribution of theatrical creation to the strengthening of critical thinking about family and gender violence, of high school students from a public school in Áncash? For this purpose, we work under the qualitative approach, we use the case study method, and to obtain the information of our participants we use the semi-structured interview. After analyzing the information provided by the interviewees, we conclude that the theater contributes greatly to strengthening the critical thinking of students in the face of family and gender violence, for which we recommend that theatrical projects continue to be implemented in the school, with that objective.
