Abstract

To understand the evolution of prehistoric economies it is essential to look at the development of specialized production. By looking at which types of prehistoric societies ailowed individuals, or groups of individuals, to withdraw from the subsistence economy and perform a single task exclusively and which ones did not, we can increase our understanding of the processes that lead to the formation of the highly specialized economies typical of the modern era.Para comprender la evolución de las culturas prehistóricas es indispensable analizar el desarrollo de la producción especializada. Observando qué tipo de sociedades prehistóricas permitían que sus individuos o grupos de individuos se retiraran de la economía de subsistencia para llevar a cabo exclusivamente una sola tarea y cuáles no, podemos incrementar nuestro conocimiento sobre los procesos que llevaron hacia la formación de las economías altamente especializadas típicas de la era moderna.
