Sexismo ambivalente e identidad de rol de género en un grupo de cadetes hombres y mujeres de una escuela militar

El presente estudio busca identificar si existen diferencias según sexo en la
relación entre la identidad de rol de género y el sexismo ambivalente en un grupo de
cadetes. Para tal fin se elaboró una primera investigación de metodología cuantitativa
(N = 60), la cual permitió explorar la existencia de alguna diferencia entre sexos en la
relación entre Sexismo Ambivalente e Identidad de Rol de Género, así como diferencias
de acuerdo a variables demográficas como especialidad y lugar de procedencia. Los
resultados para los cadetes hombres indican que el sexismo benévolo resulta un buen
predictor para el sexismo hostil, así como la masculinidad para el sexismo benévolo, y
la masculinidad para la feminidad. Así mismo, se encontró que los cadetes hombres, y
los que conformaban el área de Armas tenían mayor aceptación al sexismo hostil. El
segundo estudio se realizó con una metodología cualitativa. En este, mediante
entrevistas individuales, se indagó sobre las concepciones sobre la identidad de género
(feminidad y masculinidad) y la percepción del rol de la mujer en las instituciones
militares. Los resultados muestran que las representaciones asociadas a los roles de
género se dan desde el estereotipo de rol tradicional, el cual refuerza la división sexual
del trabajo y mantiene la desigualdad entre los cadetes hombres y mujeres.
The present study seeks to identify if there are differences according to sex in the relationship between gender role identity and ambivalent sexism in a group of cadets. For this purpose, a quantitative methodology research was elaborated (N = 60), which allowed to explore the existence of differences between sexes in the relation between ambivalent sexism and gender identity, as well as differences according to demographic variables as Specialty and place of origin. The results for the male cadets indicate that benevolent Sexism is a good predictor for hostile sexism, masculinity for benevolent sexism, and masculinity for femininity. Likewise, it was found that the male cadets, and those that conformed the area of Weapons had greater acceptance to the hostile sexism. The second study was carried out with a qualitative methodology. In this, through individual interviews, the conceptions about gender identity (femininity and masculinity) and the perception of the role of women in military institutions were investigated. The results show that representations associated with gender roles occur from the traditional role stereotype, which reinforces the sexual division of labor and maintains inequality between male and female cadets.
