Cambio climático y migración: actualidad y prospectiva en México y el mundo

Abstract

This paper examines the relationship between climate change and the phenomenon of migration. It shows the current situation and forecasts for this phenomenon, which already affects millions of people around the world and is predicted to affect many more soon. This paper focuses on the current situation of climate-induced forced internal displacement in Mexico, which is considered climate migration. It will address the forecasts in this regard for the year 2050, as well as the path that has been followed (and is still not finalized) with the aim of establishing a regulatory framework that will allow the Mexican state to address this increasingly pressing problem.El presente trabajo examina la relación entre cambio climático y el fenómeno de la migración. Se muestra la situación actual y los pronósticos sobre este fenómeno que ya afecta a millones de personas alrededor del mundo y que se pronostica perturbará a muchas más en el futuro cercano. Este artículo se enfoca en la situación actual del desplazamiento forzado interno por razones climáticas en México, el cual se considera como migración climática. Se abordarán las previsiones con las que se cuenta al respecto para el año 2050, así como el camino que se ha seguido (y que aún no finaliza) con el objetivo de establecer un marco normativo que permita al Estado mexicano enfrentar esta problemática cada vez más apremiante.
