La versatilidad como una actitud frente a la vida : Estudio de los casos de la Compañía Danza PUCP y la Compañía D1

Abstract

La diversidad de los bailarines en el Perú es tan amplia como la diversidad de estilos de danza que existen en el mundo. La búsqueda por ser un bailarín versátil en la actualidad trae consigo la dificultad de comprender qué se entiende por ser un bailarín ideal, específicamente para los bailarines o profesionales de la danza. Así pues, la presente investigación tuvo como propósito entender el ideal de dos compañías de danza peruanas, Danza PUCP y D1, sabiendo que ambas compañías tienen distintos enfoques y visiones sobre la danza contemporánea. Para recoger la información, se entrevistó a miembros de ambas compañías. A partir de ello, se pudo entender los perfiles de bailarines buscados por las dos compañías y concluir que, a pesar de que ambas desarrollan estilos y productos estéticamente distintos, la búsqueda de su ideal es similar y la búsqueda de este ideal en el bailarín tiene que ver con el desarrollo del mercado laboral en el Perú.

The diversity of dancers in Peru is so wide as the diversity of dance styles that exist all over the world. Being a versatile dancer nowadays comes with the difficulty of understanding what is to be an ideal dancer, specifically talking about dancers or dance professionals. Therefore, this research aims to understand the ideal of two Peruvian dance companies, Danza PUCP and D1 dance, considering that both companies have different focuses and understandings about contemporary dance. To collect this information, members of the two companies were interviewed. It was possible to understand the profiles of the dancers that these two companies look for, even though both of them develop different styles and aesthetic discourses, they search for a similar ideal of a dancer and this is related to the development of the labor market for dancers in Peru.
