Sensitividad, representaciones de apego e ideal de sensitividad en madres adolescentes

Abstract

La presente investigación tuvo como objetivos generales (1) conocer la relación entre las representaciones de apego y la sensitividad materna, y (2) describir la relación entre la sensitividad materna y el ideal de sensitividad en madres adolescentes de nivel socioeconómico bajo en Lima. Además, busca describir las características de los constructos mencionados en las participantes. Por lo que, se evaluó a 12 madres, con edades entre 16 y 19 años (M = 17.25, DE = 3.25), junto a sus hijos, con edades entre 6 y 18 meses (M = 10.25, DE = 3.52), utilizando el Maternal Behaviour Q-Set (Pederson, Morán y Bento, 1999) en modo de observación y de reporte de ideales, y las Narrativas de Apego Maternas (Waters y Rodrigues-Doolabh, 2006). Respecto a la sensitividad, se hallaron dos grupos: madres con sensitividad alta y madres con sensitividad baja. Sobre las representaciones de apego, se observó una relación con significancia marginal entre las narrativas de las relaciones madre-bebé y las de relaciones entre adultos. En cuanto al ideal de sensitividad, se encontró que era muy cercano al criterio universal y se halló que estaba relacionado de forma marginal al nivel socioeconómico. Con respecto a los objetivos generales, no se encontraron relaciones significativas. Sin embargo, se halló una relación positiva con significancia marginal entre la sensitividad real e ideal en el grupo de madres con mayor sensitividad; mientras que en las madres con menor sensitividad se presentó una correlación negativa, alta pero no significativa. Estos resultados resaltan la necesidad de seguir investigando qué mediadores hay en la relación entre estos constructos y cómo funcionan.

This study aims to identify (1) the association between maternal sensitivity and attachment representations and (2) the association between maternal sensitivity and ideal maternal sensitivity in adolescent mothers. In addition, this research strives to describe the characteristics that those constructs have in the aforementioned group. In order to achieve this, 12 adolescent mothers, aged between 16 and 19 years old (M = 17.25, DE = 3.25), and their babies, aged between 6 and 18 months (M = 10.25, DE = 3.52), were assessed using the Maternal Behaviour Q-Set (Pederson, Morán y Bento, 1999) and the Maternal Attachment Scripts (Waters y Rodrigues-Doolabh, 2006). As for sensitivity, two groups were found: mothers with high sensitivity and mother with low sensitivity. This study found an association with marginal significance between narratives of mother-infant relationships and narratives about adult-adult relationships. Ideal sensitivity was found similar to universal criterion and an association with marginal significance was found between it and socioeconomic status. Regarding the general objectives, no significant associations were found. However, a positive association with marginal significance was found between the real and ideal sensitivity in the group of mothers with greater sensitivity; meanwhile, in the group of mothers with lower sensitivity a negative and high, but not significant, correlation was found. These results highlight the need to carry forward research to ascertain the mediators in these relations and how those mediators work.
