Licencia de paternidad y maternidad en el Perú
(Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, 2018-03-19) Giesecke, Micaela
In Peru, pregnant mothers and fathers of newborns have the right to maternity and paternity leave, respectively. Mothers have 98 days of rest before and after birth. Meanwhile, fathers are entitled to four days off. Through the review of secondary sources, the present essay aimed to analyze maternity and paternity leave policies from the five principles for the evaluation of policies from the family perspective (Bogenschneider & Little, 2012), as well as from the gender approach (Butler and Fraser, 2000). With this, it seeks to understand to what extent these policies are effective in the search for equal opportunities and gender equity, so that this document contributes with arguments for the construction of policies that allow achieving gender equality.

Mas vale morir de pie luchando que de rodillas mendigando

The following work aims to understand why the retirees of the Central Nacional de Jubilados y Pensionistas del Perú (CENAJUPE) organize politically. There is a wide literature that has placed older adults as passive subjects. However, this organization demonstrates an atypical and particular case in the Peruvian context. The findings show us that the main motive for their organization is what we have called a “Politicized Waiting”. In other words, retirees actively wait for their pensions to rise, which can be reflected in their marches, sit-ins, complaints, etc. Thus, this wait is sustained due to the existence of two gestures: the small achievements they have obtained and the hopes in the new leaders. In addition, there are two other factors that contribute to the organization lasting: on the one hand, resources that enable and/or limit its organization (union experience, connection with other organizations, family support), and, on the other, non-political reasons (the “being active” of retirees and the support network) that help retirees continue to participate actively despite not having yet achieved their main objective: raising their pensions.

Constitucionalismos latinoamericanos y su materialización en acciones ambientales REDD+
(Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, 2018-03-19) Gil, Yeison
Propositions of alternative thoughts are a very important bet by De Sousa Santos, aimed at legitimizing restricted epistemologies throughout history. This process starts from a discursive plane, materialized in legal frameworks. Now, beyond the generation of the latter, the materialization of these alternatives is represented in concrete actions and projects, and REDD + projects are an example of it. REDD + arises from small innovation niches in particular scenarios, which through the linking and support of new actors achieve a significant impact. This is how the governance scenarios generate a great impact in the communities —mainly in the indigenous of Ecuador and Bolivia—, allowing them not only to influence the local development of their territories, but also the national policy of their States, what we know as the new Latin American constitutionalisms.

¿Cómo se hace un ciclista urbano?
(Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, 2018-03-19) Rojas, Carla; Chicmana, Victoria; Guerrero, Tamina; Rojas, Gloria
In this research, the process of formation and consolidation of Cicloaxion as an organization will be developed as a central theme. When analyzing this, two key processes were identified. Before doing so, it is important to mention that they are not two temporally separated processes, but rather interrelated and integrated. Initially, the current members identify, through their own experiences, an individual problem around urban cycling, pointing out causes of the cycling problem as well as envisioning solutions. Then, the organization arises, so the problem is politicized through the identification of campaigns, choice of repertoires, strategies to deal with the matter, use of international and local networks. Finally, an identity is generated among the members. In this way, Cicloaxion is consolidated as an organization within a social movement.

Microsociología de la prostitución femenina en el espacio público de la ciudad de Buenos Aires
(Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, 2018-03-19) Nuñez, Lucia
The present work aims to analyze, from a microsociological approach, the interactions of migrant women and men (clients/prostitute hirers) in the exercise of prostitution in public spaces of the Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires. Starting from the premise that the observation, description and analysis of these specific interactions make it possible to account for the ways in which hierarchies are built around female corporalities in the sex market, for example, through ethnic-racial stereotypes, anchored in the national dimension involved in the development of this practice, among others. For this, part of the field work carried out by the undersigned in recent years will be appealed, focusing on the ethnographic observations made in two historical sites of prostitution in the public space of the city. The choice of these places refers to the fact that they present a specific spatial organization mode (concentration/dispersion), while they present a population exercising this practice differentiated in sex-gender and national terms.
