This paper reports an empirical study of achievement in motivation with an attributional perspective, and the third level of knowledge structure following Sugrue’s model, conducted with two experimental groups in which a hybrid PBL methodology was implemented, in a General Chemistry course, first year of Science and Engineering Program at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP). Both groups were compared with a control group corresponding to an equivalent course of another Peruvian university. The findings showed the significant influence of learning context on achievements in the studied variables, especially the negative effect of an inefficient group dynamics.

This investigation presents the analysis of the relationship between the leadership style of a principal and the participation of teachers and students in school management, from a school and leadership political approach. The study identifies the sources of power from the principal of the school; describes how she develops communications with the different school actors; how she implements her decision-making and how she manages conflicts, among other aspects ofmicro-politics. Similarly, the study details how leadership is influential in the participation levels of teachers and students in school management. Finally, the study contributes in identifying management obstacles, in a context that demands a horizontal approach to the relationship principal-teachers-students, suggesting what to do and what not to do by the leadership.

This article approaches the emergence of a new profile of teachers who work inthe basic education. It debates teachers’ education through the light of the analysis of strategies of flexibilization of contractual conditions of teachers who work in the Brazilian private sector, the same ones that demand teachers’ educationunder a new commercial paradigm in which the teacher goes from educator to a businessperson and educational entrepreneur. This new paradigm supports the process of expansion of neoliberal policies and thus makes sense in the existing polemics between education as a social right and as merchandise or service. Theauthors verify and discuss the emergence, among the education entrepreneurs, ofrequests for teachers with new professional qualifications, not yet contemplated in the current models of teaching education.

What we need today is an education that disturbs our habits and customs, the manner we relate to nature and our expectations and concept on welfare.Bothering us and bothering others, education will friendly accommodate our life, both material and spiritual, to environment in a sustainable manner. We need an education that helps us to create new collective imaginaries to guide our daily action, both individual and in community, building new roads to sustainable development.
