Centro de Investigación en Geografía Aplicada, 2021-06-14) Sánez Zevallos, Elsa ConsueloUrban growth in the city of Lima without a territorial multiscale focus has not been able to respond to socio-economic inequalities, ecosystem protection and disaster risks. This has meant that many populations continue to live in risk areas, as is the case of human settlements in the district of Villa María del Triunfo (VMT), exposed to «small» daily risks and cumulative impacts. In this context, this research analyzes the level of extensive disaster risk due to mass movement from a micro scale and under a holistic approach in the «Asentamiento Humano Quebrada Alta del Paraíso» through interviews, information sheets and the use of GIS.The main results of the study show a very high – high-risk level. This result is explained by the hazard analysis (very high – high), registering a total of ten active and four inactive hazards due to rock falls and landslides. Likewise, these results are conditioned by the physical characteristics of the territory that differ during the winter (Lomas ecosystem) and summer seasons. Finally, the vulnerability analysis shows a level between very high and medium level of vulnerability, which reveals the precariousness of housing and basic services (technical vulnerability); poor organization (social vulnerability); low level of education and income (economic vulnerability); the impact of the population’s knowledge and perceptions (cultural vulnerability); and the lack of institutional presence and representation (institutional vulnerability).Ítem Texto completo enlazado Crecimiento poblacional y cambios territoriales en el centro urbano de Salcedo, Puno(Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. Centro de Investigación en Geografía Aplicada, 2021-06-14) Ccama Condori, Hugo AnselmoThe urban expansion process generates negative effects on natural settings; this process is mainly caused by population growth that transforms natural territories for urban uses. The study aims to explain territorial changes as an effect of population growth in the urban center of Salcedo (Puno), understanding that population growth is one of the human actions that transforms natural territories and generates irreversible environmental effects. Methodologically, the study was based on the description of the current situation (diagnosis), for this the territorial analysis was carried out with the support of thematic mapping, referring to physical, spatial, and environmental aspects, to then process the information in the GIS software (ARC VIEW 3.2); subsequently, the perception of the population regarding the occupation of natural territories and deterioration of the environment was assessed. The results obtained report that the urban center of Salcedo experienced an accelerated population growth in the last decades, which directly influenced the increase of its urban area by 319 hectares; reducing natural rural areas to 302.4 hectares; This modification in the increase of its urban area has generated negative and adverse effects on the natural territory, occupying areas not suitable for urban uses, deterioration of the environment and pollution.Ítem Texto completo enlazado Cultura prosocial en Segovia y Remedios: un estudio de atributos en contextos mineros(Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. Centro de Investigación en Geografía Aplicada, 2021-06-14) Eslava Gómez, Adolfo; Silva Jaramillo, Santiago; Valencia Vélez, Sergio Andrés; García-Luna, Estefanía; Peralta Vélez, Ana María; Echavarría Areiza, Andrea; Londoño Quiceno, Yeison DaríoMining contexts, such as Segovia and Remedios, which are characterized by high immigration, and the confluence of multiple actors and diverse interests, also have a community that faces the adverse consequences of behaviors related to a culture of illegality. In this study, it was found that trust within the community influences collective action, which more easily allows the consideration and conciliation of problems associated with the culture of illegality in these towns. This can be useful for the construction of networks that promote collective action, this being a protagonist of public decisions and a mobilizer of social changes.Ítem Texto completo enlazado Micro y pequeñas empresas y las estrategias de responsabilidad social empresarial: una perspectiva desde el desarrollo sostenible(Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. Centro de Investigación en Geografía Aplicada, 2021-06-14) Rivadeneira Ramírez, Karla; Echeverri Rubio, AlejandroResearch focused on exposing the scope of corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategies of micro and small companies of the Metropolitan District of Quito, Ecuador, as well as their contribution to the sustainable development of the city. Centro de Investigación en Geografía Aplicada, 2021-06-14) Weibel, Marianne ClaireClimate change and sustainable development are well-known concepts, but their perceptions might considerably vary across academic and nonacademic communities and intercultural contexts. The present research examines the relationships and interlinkages of climate change and sustainable development in a comparative assessment of a suburban community with a local university within the central Andes (Cusco, Southern Peru). The main objective is to analyze both viewpoints for the discovery of new solutions to the climate/development antagonism through their combination. A thematic analysis pointing at a diverse set of climatic and socioeconomic characteristics allows identifying eight statements and twenty themes concerning climate change and sustainable development. Despite the diversity of cultural worldviews, evidenced by the Andean community being more problem-oriented whereas the academia points to collective solutions, both interviewee groups also share common perceptions, particularly about waste management. The comparative analysis of Peruvian academic and non-academic perceptions in Cusco offers a transversal viewpoint on the local impacts of national and global development, contributing to the construction of public awareness. Furthermore, this study provides transferable insights for tackling with long-term sustainability of developing countries, towards the transformation of inclusive and more resilient cities and communities as part of the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
