Resumen
La presente tesis tiene como objetivo calcular el Índice de Progreso Social (IPS) del
distrito de Barranco 2018, la investigación tiene sus bases en el marco de estudio que mide el
Índice de Progreso Social basado en tres dimensiones: (a) Necesidades Humanas Básicas, (b)
Fundamentos del Bienestar, y (c) Oportunidades. El instrumento utilizado para la
recopilación de información fue la encuesta distrital, a través de la aplicación de un
cuestionario basado en 52 indicadores para las tres zonas delimitadas del distrito de Barranco,
según su proximidad geográfica.
El progreso social se precisa como la facultad de una colectividad para retribuir a las
necesidades humanas básicas de sus ciudadanos, el IPS constituye los componentes básicos
que aprueban a los ciudadanos optimizar la calidad de vida y crear las circunstancias para que
todas las personas logren su máximo potencial. Esta herramienta tiene a su vez como misión
promover el progreso social para que el gobierno, las empresas y la sociedad civil a colaborar
y reorientar los recursos necesarios para mayor contribución al progreso social.
El Índice de Progreso Social calculado de acuerdo a la metodología del Social
Progress Imperative (IPS) obtuvo como resultado un valor de 82.65 puntos de 100,
ubicándose en el nivel “Alto”, resaltando la marcada diferencia entre las zonas III y I con
índices de 81.60 y 84.54 respectivamente. Los resultados muestran que el distrito de Barranco
cubre; a) las necesidades humanas mínimas para que la población pueda vivir en el nivel
“Muy Alto” al igual que existen, b) oportunidades para que la población puede lograr su
pleno potencial; hay menor nivel en la dimensión de c) Fundamentos del Bienestar que se
ubica en el nivel “Alto” ya que existen elementos para que puedan mantener y desarrollar su
bienestar definido por índices de salud y bienestar y sostenibilidad ambiental. La presente
investigación para el distrito Barranco, constituye la primera medición del IPS a nivel zonal,
lo que permitirá evaluar las condiciones de progreso social y su comparación a nivel distrital.
The present thesis has as objective calculate the Social Progress Index [IPS] of the district of Barranco 2018, the research is based on the study framework that measures the Social Progress Index based on three dimension: (a) Basic Human Needs, (b) Foundations of wellbeing and (c) Opportunities. The main instrument used was the district survey as a collection of information obtained through the application of questionnaires based on 52 indicators for the three delimited zones of the district of Barranco according to their geographical proximity. Social progress is required as the ability of a community to give back to the basic human needs of its citizens, the IPS is the basic components that approve citizens to optimize the quality of life and create the circumstances for all people to achieve their maximum potential. This tool also has as its mission to promote social progress so that the government, companies and civil society can collaborate and reorient the necessary resources to make a greater contribution to social progress. The Social Progress Index, calculated according to the methodology of the Social Progress Imperative, obtained as a result a value of 82.65 out of 100 points in the "High" level, highlighting the marked difference between zones III and I with indices of 81.60 and 84.54 respectively. The results show that the district of Barranco covers the minimum needs so that the population can live in the "Very High" level, as there are opportunities for the population to achieve their full potential; with a lower level in the Foundations of well-being dimension in the "High" level in the existence of elements so that they can maintain and develop their well-being defined by health and well-being indexes and environmental sustainability. The present investigation for the Barranco district, constitutes the first measurement of the SPI at zonal level, which will allow to evaluate the conditions of social progress and its comparison at the district level.
