Resumen
La provincia de Concepción tiene una extensión territorial de 3 067.52 Km², con una
población estimada en el 2012 de 58,942 habitantes. Su estratégica ubicación localizada en el
centro del Valle del Mantaro, rodeada de las provincias de Huancayo, Satipo, Chupaca, Jauja
y Yauyos en Lima, plantea una interesante oportunidad para el desarrollo de productos
agropecuarios y turísticos dentro de una perspectiva global.
Para los pobladores de Concepción, la carencia de oportunidades para su desarrollo es
resultado del centralismo, la falta de capacitación técnica y universitaria, y la limitada
capacidad de sus gobernantes. La propuesta de este Plan Estratégico al 2022 propone alcanzar
una realidad con un alto nivel de vida en toda la provincia que se traduce en mayor ingresos,
mejores condiciones de vivienda y crecimiento sostenible de sus ejes económicos, sustentado
en el liderazgo que ejercerá la provincia a través de sus principales recursos y servicios como
son la alcachofa y lácteos con valor agregado, además del turismo.
La provincia de Concepción tiene grandes oportunidades para desarrollar los sectores
estratégicos: (a) crecimiento de la producción de alcachofa tipo con espinas, (b)
consolidación de la cadena productiva de productos lácteos y (c) desarrollo del turismo, que
puede combinar los distintos tipos de turismo: (a) histórico, (b) cultural, (c) ecoturismo, (d)
vivencial, (e) agroturismo, (f) salud y (g) de investigación. En estos tres sectores se proponen
objetivos de largo plazo y estrategias medibles y realizables que permitirán priorizar las
principales actividades a desarrollar como son (a) el incremento de productividad
agropecuaria, (b) la capacitación técnica y universitaria, (c) el desarrollo de infraestructura,
(d) contar con óptimos servicios de agua y desagüe, y (e) la atracción de la inversión pública
y privada.

The purpose of this Strategic Plan aims to achieve by 2022 a reality with a high standard of living throughout the province resulting in increased revenue, improved housing and sustainable growth of economic centers, supported by the leadership exercised by the province to through its main resources and services such as artichoke and value-added milk, besides tourism. The Conception Province has great opportunities to develop strategic sectors: production growth rate thorny artichoke, consolidating dairy supply chain and develop tourism that can combine different types of tourism: historical, cultural, ecotourism, experiential, agrotourism, health and research. In these three sectors are proposed long-term objectives and measurable and achievable strategies that will prioritize the main activities to be developed such as: increasing agricultural productivity, technical and university training, infrastructure development in addition to optimal water and sewage services attracting further public and private investment.
