Aspiraciones y expectativas de mujeres jóvenes adultas de las universidades privadas en Lima Metropolitana

Resumen
La presente es una investigación descriptiva, que tiene como objetivo general
identificar las aspiraciones y expectativas de las mujeres jóvenes adultas, de 18 a 24 años,
estudiantes de educación superior de Lima Metropolitana. La investigación tiene un enfoque
cualitativo, utilizando el método de estudio de caso, con una muestra de 28 mujeres jóvenes
adultas. Las técnicas utilizadas para recopilar información han sido: (a) entrevista en
profundidad, (b) observación y (c) notas de campo.
Los resultados indican que las mujeres jóvenes de Lima estudiantes universitarias no
han sido afectadas por estereotipos de género para la elección de su carrera, ya que algunas
estudian psicología y otras economía, derecho o incluso ingeniería. Estas mujeres tienen
aspiraciones y expectativas que se pueden clasificar en tres grandes grupos: (a) relacionadas
con sus estudios, (b) de desarrollo profesional, y (c) de desarrollo personal. En el aspecto
académico, el desarrollo futuro de las jóvenes estudiantes universitarias depende
principalmente de sus capacidades y habilidades, incluso por encima del prestigio de la
universidad donde estudian. Es común que estas jóvenes aspiren a continuar estudios de
postgrado una vez que se gradúen.
La mayoría de las entrevistadas se perciben a futuro como felices, logrando
desarrollar en paralelo su carrera con una relación de pareja estable y la formación de una
familia. Lo que muestra que las aspiraciones y expectativas reflejan el ideal de vida,
considerando lo que se quiere llegar a ser o a tener. Aspiran en su mayoría a trabajar en el
sector privado, a tener experiencia de trabajo en el extranjero y a ocupar posiciones
gerenciales, al mismo tiempo que esperan adquirir una vivienda y ayudar a sus padres
This is a descriptive research, whose general objective is to identify the aspirations and expectations of young adult women, between 18 to 24 years, students from universities located in Metropolitan Lima. It is a study of qualitative approach, which used the multiple cases analysis method, with a sample of 28 females. The techniques used to collect information have been: (a) observation, (b) in-depth interview and (c) interview notes. The results indicated that young women of Lima have not been affected by gender stereotypes on the choice of her career, as some of them study either psychology, economics, law or engineering. These women have aspirations and expectations that could be classified into three groups: (a) related to their studies, (b) professional development, and (c) personal development. Academically, the future development of young university students mainly depends on their skills and abilities, even above the prestige of the university where they study. It is very common for these young people aspire to continue studying once they graduate. Most survey respondents perceive a happy future, able to develop her career in parallel with a stable relationship and start a family. This shows that the aspirations and expectations reflect the ideal of life, considering what you want to become or to have. They aspire mostly to work in the private sector, have experience working abroad in order to apply to managerial positions while they help their parents and save money to acquire a home
