“Notes for an outline of the value of tragedy for the akratḗs”. In The Nicomachean Ethics, Aristotle points that the akratḗs is able of regretting, but provides no explanation, since that should be said by physiologists (1147b6-9). However, this work argues that Aristotle does not leave this problem without an answer; given that education is the framework in which mankind exercises in his entire life, in good living, the construction of the tragic action in the Poetics can be seen as a pedagogic tool. This allows a deepening of the conflict between the akratḗs’ reasoning and passions, whose genuine contribution lies in its ability to exploit his páthē for himself and channel them towards a reflection, through a deductive exercise, about his own condition.
