Abstract
The objective of this research was to characterize the training needs and conditions in relation to technology, by healthcare personnel of health establishments, in the Santiago River area. For this, a mixed approach methodology was used, focused on characterizing the conditioning elements of the training of health personnel. The techniques used were the survey and the interview and as instruments the questionnaire addressed to healthcare personnel of health establishments and the guide for the semi-structured interview addressed to public officials with managerial positions were used, both instruments being validated by experts. The sample for the surveys consisted of 51 professionals from 10 health establishments and 4 managers from that area participated in the interviews. Among the results, the penetration of mobile devices in the different communities stands out, which is not being adequately used for the different training of health personnel. On the other hand, workers are not consulted on training issues and there is no study of their needs. Likewise, a high percentage of professional staff have an intermediate degree of digital literacy, which could favor virtual training. Finally, it was observed that the work period of management positions is short due to political decisions, which affects the training processes.
