The present investigation had the purpose of evaluating the level of happiness of the university students of Metropolitan Lima applying the instrument of measurement called Lima’s Happiness Scale, which was elaborated by the investigator Alarcón (2006). It should be noted that the instrument was selected considering three criterias: (a) the first because it is a tool that covers four dimensions, (b) second that is a validated tool in the Latin American context, and (c) third that has been validated in university students. The study carried out was quantitative of a descriptive nature and had a non-experimental design. The sample size was 384 students from public and private universities, of both sexes, without discrimination of career or study cycle. The results obtained in the research have shown that the level of happiness on average is medium, the dimension with the lowest level of happiness was that of Personal Achievement and that there is no significant difference between the sex, age, and type of university groups. These results allowed identifying opportunities to increase the level of happiness at a general level.
